David Ferrer played a rock solid match to overcome David Nalbandian of Argentina in the semifinal match of the Buenos Aires Open. The scoreline says it all, 6-1 6-4.
Ferrer broke his opponent twice in the first set and he was in full control of the second set too. Although he couldn´t convert any of his two matchpoints at 5-3 up in the second set, he took the third opportunity in the very next game to finish the match and book his spot in the final.
His opponent will be the defending champion Nicolas Almagro, who had to fight much harder against Stanislas Wawrinka of Switzerland. Almagro prevailed in three sets 6-4 3-6 7-5 and will try to repeat his last year double, when he won the titles at the Brazil Open and Buenos Aires Open.
