Roger Federer moved into the ABN Amro semifinal as he overcame Jarkko Nieminen 7-5  7-6 (2).

The Swiss is eyeing his second Rotterdam title after having won here in 2005. He will now play the Russian Nikolay Davydenko, who seems to have found his old form as he defeated Richard Gasguet of France 7-5  6-3.

In the other quarterfinals, the second seed Tomas Berdych of Czech Republic cruised to victory over Andreas Seppi of Italy, winning in straight sets 6-3  6-4 and the Argentine former US Open champion Juan Martin del Potro didn´t waste any extra time on the court as he smashed Viktor Troicki of Serbia 6-0  6-1.
