The 2009 US Open Champion Juan Martin del Potro seems to be back on top form as he wins the Marseille Open title, beating Michael Llodra of France in the final with a 6-4  6-4 scoreline.

This is del Potro’s first title of the season, the 10th of his career.

Llodra likes this tournament, he has got some good memories here, especially after he won it in 2010.

But this time it was the Argentinian who was in the driving seat, he broke the French once in each set and that proved to be enough to win the match. Although 0-30 behind on his serve when serving for the match, del Potro showed some mental strenght didn’t let Llodra back into the set.

Del Potro had a very tough semifinal encounter against the Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, winning 6-4  6-7 (9)  6-3 and Llodra booked his final spot by defeating the third seed Janko Tipsarevic of Serbia 6-4  7-6 (10).
