Berdych, Monfils and Simon reach semifinal in Montpellier

Tomas Berdych of Czech Republic stormed into the semifinals of the Open Sud tournament in Montpellier, defeating Nicolas Mahut of France 6-3  6-4.

Also through are Gael Monfils of France, who dismissed Jarkko Nieminen of Finland in two fairly easy sets 6-3  6-3. Nieminen was the one to win the Sydney International last month.

Monfils will now play his french countryman Gilles Simon in the semis. Simon eliminated Guillaume Rufin in a tough three set match 7-6 (5)  6-7 (2)  6-2.
