Wozniacki and Sharapova reach last 16 at Australian Open

Last year’s Wimbledon finalist Maria Sharapova overcame 30th-seeded German Angelique Kerber 6-1, 6-2 to reach the round of last 16 at this year’s Australian Open.

She will now face Sabine Lisicky of Germany in the next round.
Top seed Caroline Wozniacki is yet to drop a set at this year’s Open as she defeated Monica Niculescu 6-2 6-2 in her third round match.
The Dane will now either play Christina McHale or the former world no.1 Jelena Jankovic for a place in the quarterfinals.

    I’m going to have to say Jankovic. She made an iepimssrve run at the US Open and had a chance to win the 1st set against Serena. Sharapova would be a contender but she hasn’t been playing well and will have to settle in.. I’m betting she’ll start playing good after the French Open. Jelena Jankovic is my pic.
