British no.1 Andy Murray reserved his place in the 2012 Australian Open semifinals by defeating Japan’s Kei Nishihori 6-3 6-3 6-1.

He will now play either Serbian Djokovic or Spain’s Ferrer in the SF.

For Murray, this will be his third consecutive semifinal here. Despite his weaker serving today (only 44% of 1st serves in), he outplayed

Nishikori from the baseline and never really had to dig deep as he cruised to a straight sets victory.

He will be eager to repeat last year’s final, where he lost to Djokovic.
