World no.5 David Ferrer will meet Olivier Rochus of Belgium in Auckland’s final.

The Spaniard Ferrer made his way into the final with a win over Fernando Verdasco 6-3 6-4 and will fight for his third title here. He won this tournament in 2007 and 2011.

Ferrer managed to break Verdasco once in each set and he held his serve throughout the whole match.

Rochus dismissed Philipp Kohlschreiber of Germany in a much tougher match, beating him 6-7 (4-7) 6-1 6-4.

Kohlschreiber, the 2008 champion here, took the first set in 71 minutes. Rochus came back very strong in the second set and got the overhand in the decider, despite the very windy conditions.
