Defending champion Roger Federer booked his spot in the Qatar Open semis as he beat Italian Andreas Seppi 6-3  5-7  6-4.

World no.2 Rafael Nadal joins Federer in the last 4 after a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Russian Mikhail Youzhny.

Federer will now play Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and it will be a re-match of the final from the ATP World Tour Finals last November, where the Swiss prevailed.

Nadal’s opponent in the semis will be the fourth seed Gael Monfils.
