Li Na of China moved into her second consecutive final at the Sydney International as she beat world no.2 Petra Kvitova 1-6 7-5 6-2.
Kvitova had a chance to take the world no.1 spot and overtake Caroline Wozniacki, but she had to win this tournament. She was a set and a break up and all seemed to be a formality.
But Li, last year’s French Open champion, stormed back and after she took the second set 7-5, she was unstoppable.
Li will face world no.3 Victoria Azarenka in the final. Azarenka defeated Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland 1-6, 6-3, 6-2.
