The no.3 seed Victoria Azarenka of Belarus is the first player to reach the 2012 Australian Open semifinals. She dismissed Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland 6-7 (0) 6-0 6-2.

After losing the first set, the Belarussian didn’t allow Radwanska a single game in the second. She held her form in the deciding set and bagged the match.

Azarenka has got a chance to become world no.1 should she win this year’s tournament. She will now play either Kim Clisters, the defending champion, or the world no.1 Caroline Wozniacki.
