“It wasn’t a pretty match, but I’m through and that’s what’s most important.” was Wozniacki’s answer to what she though about the match.
In the men’s draw, former world no.1 Andy Roddick couldn’t find his form as he went out to South Africa’s Kevin Anderson 6-4, 7-5. He’s had quite a few first round losses this year and when a journalist asked him after the match whether he was contemplating to retire at some point, his hit back: “I think you should retire,” said the American.

Maria, you could have won this match with a ltilte more luck and not giving back a break up 3-1 in the first set. Still, you gave a great effort against Na. Hope you go far in the US Open!
