Tsonga through to second round at the China Open

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga battled his way through to the second round at the China Open as he defeated Grigor Dimitrov of Bulgaria 7-6 (7), 7-5.

For the top seed Frenchman Tsonga, Beijing has got a special place in his heart as he won his first career match here in 2004.

Tsonga will play Chinese qualifier Zhang Ze in round two.
