Tsonga faces Berdych in China Open semifinal

Top seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga made his way into the semifinal of the China Open, defeating former world no.1 Juan Carlos Ferrero 6-3, 6-4.

He will now meet the Czech Tomas Berdych, who outsted Fernando Verdasco of Spain 6-1, 6-0. He broke the Spaniard’s serve six times and dominated throughout the whole match.

The other semifinal match will be decided between two Croats Ivan Ljubicic and Marin Cilic. Ljubicic beat Mikhail Youzhny of Russia 7-6 (4), 6-7 (4), 6-2 and Cilic eliminated Kevin Anderson of South Africa 7-6 (4), 4-6, 6-1.
