Jo-Wilfried Tsonga moved into the quarterfinal of the China Open after ousting the Chinese wildcard holder Ze Zhang in straight sets 6-3, 6-4.

The top seed French player set up a quarterfinal match against the former world no.1 Juan Carlos Ferrero after the Spaniard defeated Marcel Granollers 6-4, 6-4.

Tsonga will try to maintain his top form that won him the title in Metz a couple of weeks ago as he will want to secure his place at this year’s Barclays ATP World Tour Finals in London.

In the womens tournament, Agnieszka Radwanska, who won in Tokyo last week, beat Sofia Arvidsson of Sweden 6-4, 6-2.

Romanian Monica Niculescu, who upset Li Na of China in the first round, defeated Virginie Razzano of France 4-6, 6-1, 6-2.

Maria Kirilenko of Russia cruised to the next round with an easy win over Tamira Paszek of Austria, eliminating her 6-1, 6-2.
