Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland defeated Andrea Petkovic of Germany in a fierce battle 7-5, 0-6, 6-4 and lifted the China Open trophy.

The match lasted 154 minutes and this was the second title in a row for Radwanska as she won last week’s Pan Pacific Open title in Tokyo.

The first set was full of twists and turns, Radwanska leading 4-1 before Petkovic came back to level the score. The German asked for a medical time-out after she pulled a muscle, but was able to continue playing. After 84 minutes of play, Radwanska had the edge and took the first set.

Petkovic came storming back in the second set as she surprisingly won it 6-0, not allowing her opponent much.

The third set was much closer again and saw five breaks all together. Radwanska held nerve and served out at 5-4 to close the match.
