Pavlyuchenkova, Hantuchova out of Luxembourg, Azarenka wins

No.2 seed Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova of Russia surprisingly lost her first round match at the Luxembourg Open against Rebecca Marino of Canada in three sets 1-6, 6-3, 6-3.

Daniela Hantuchova of Slovakia also went out to the Czech Lucie Hradecka as she lost 7-6 (3), 5-7, 1-6.

Top seed Victoria Azarenka made her way into the second round after overcoming Barbora Zahlavova Strycova of Czech Republic 6-2, 6-4. She will now play Alberta Brianti of Italy.

Ana Ivanovic (SRB) – Virginie Razzano (FRA) – 7-6 (2), 6-4

Anastasija Sevastova (LAT) – Flavia Pennetta (ITA) – 6-3, 6-2
