Defending champion Andy Murray eased through to the semifinals at the Shanghai Masters as he overpowered Matthew Ebden of Australia 6-3, 6-2.
The british no.1 player took control of the match straight from the beginning and never felt the heat as he outplayed the 124th ranked Australian Ebden.
Murray opponent in the semis will be Kei Nishikori of Japan, who defeated Alexandr Dolgopolov of Ukraine 6-4, 6-3.
In the other quarterfinals, Feliciano Lopez of Spain eliminated Florian Mayer of Germany 6-2, 6-4. The German was unable to bring his form from that secured him the victory over Nadal.
