Former world number 1 Ana Ivanovic of Serbia upset Vera Zvonareva in the third round at the China Open, when beating her easily 6-2, 6-1.

With this win Ivanovic brought their head-to-head record level, now standing at 5-5.

Ivanovic will now meet Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland, who ousted Zheng Jie of China 6-1, 6-4.

The ninth-seeded Andrea Petkovic of Germany played a very close match against Marion Bartoli of France, winning in three sets 6-4, 4-6, 7-5 and moved into QF.

In the men’s draw, Tomas Berdych of Czech Republic outplayed Phillip Kohlschreiber of Germany, beating him comfortably 6-2, 6-0.

    Absolutely birlliant post. Have not seen anything from MV in a while and was wondering what had happened to her. Glad to see that she is busy looking after the Captain. Would not want the Captain and MV to fall out. One of the better love stories of this century.
