Bhupathi-Paes through to second round at the China Open

Mahesh Bhupathi and Leander Paes won their first round match at the China Open, defeating Chinese Mao-Xin Gong and Zhe Li 6-2, 3-6, 10-3.

After the easy first set the for the Indians, the Chinese came back to the cheers of applause of the crowd to take the second set. But the third set tie-break was all about Bhupathi and Paes who will now play the Croatians marin Cilic and Ivan Ljubicic.

Marin Cilic/Ivan Ljubicic (SRB/SRB) – Mark Knowles/Jurgen Melzer (BAH/AUT) – 6-3, 6-4

Robert Lindstedt/Horia Tecau (SWE/ROU) – Nicolas Almagro/Tommy Robredo (ESP/ESP) – 6-3, 7-5

Marcel Granollers/Oliver Marach (ESP/AUT) – Scott Lipsky/Rajeev Ram (USA/IND) – 6-4, 2-6, 10-6

Max Mirnyi/Daniel Nestor (BLR/CAN) – Feliciano Lopez/Fernando Verdasco (ESP/ESP) – 2-6, 7-6 (5), 10-5
