Tomas Berdych of Czech Republic won his first title since his victory in Munich in 2009. In the final of the China Open, he defeated Marin Cilic of Croatia 3-6, 6-4, 6-1.

With this win, he boosted his chances for a place at the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals in London. Berdych is currently ranked 7th.

“To bring this title really means a lot to me. After 29 months, it’s been quite a long time, so I’m happy that I could break this up,” said Berdych,
