World no.1 Novak Djokovic, who has been playing some outstanding tennis throughout this year so far, has probably escaped an injury scare.
After having to had to withdraw from his Davis Cup semifinal match against the Argentine Del Potro at the beginning of the second set.
But a couple of days later, he said:
“Not as serious as we have thought. It’s a partial rupture of a back muscle that deserves rest.”
This is the first time Djokovic has encountered this type of back problems.
“I carried the injury since the U.S. Open. It gradually got worse through the tournament, and I felt sharp pain in the finals.” revealed the Serbian.
